Civil Lab Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a Lab Supervisor – Civils to join the team. The role will be a key part of the department's safety function, driving awareness and adherence to a safety-first culture.

In this role you will guide the technical staff in timely completion of daily work and may be designated as the main contact for customer on-site visits.

This position will be based in Dubai, UAE.

Core Responsibilities:

• Operational Management: Oversee daily laboratory workflows, including scheduling staff, managing sample intake, and ensuring expected TAT are met
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement and maintain the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025
• Personnel Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor laboratory technicians. This includes documenting their technical training and conducting performance reviews
• Technical Review: Review and approve laboratory test reports for accuracy before distribution to clients or engineers
• Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate the regular calibration and maintenance of all testing equipment, to ensure reliability
• Safety Oversight: Act as the lead for safety protocols, ensuring all staff follow company-specific health and safety rules
• Client Coordination: Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, providing interpretations of test results and resolving technical inquiries

Skills / Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a technical field and college level courses completed or a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role in an industry similar or related to the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry with a diploma or GED certificate preferred
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Bachelor's degree in Civils or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 year of experience working in a Senior Technician capacity and leading teams
• Experience in setting up, calibrating, operating and maintaining civil testing laboratory in line with 17025 requirements
