Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Overview

Dubai British School Emirates Hills is recruiting an outstanding STEAM teacher, commencing August 2025, to join their BSO and KHDA rated 'Outstanding' international school. This post is an exciting and unique opportunity for candidates from a range of backgrounds, looking to explore and expand their professional capacity.

Students from Year 3 to Year 9 at DBSEH enjoy specialist STEAM lessons during which they undertake project-based learning to investigate applications of technology, innovation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and the visual arts. As we expand our school, DBSEH seeks an innovative and creative teacher with the skills and mindset to bring cross-curricular projects to life!

Ideal candidates may be working in a similar role currently; however, if you are innovative, a fast learner, and have a passion for igniting curiosity, your application is welcome. The successful candidate may have a background or interest in science or technology, but the areas of focus as well as the age range to be taught are negotiable for the right candidate.

This role demands a high level of pedagogical creativity and the willingness and ability to plan learner-centred, project-based activities which allow learners to explore and apply their knowledge.

Taaleem and DBS Emirates Hills

Taaleem, one of the largest education providers in the UAE, proudly celebrates Dubai British School Emirates Hills for our outstanding ratings, awarded by both the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) and British Schools Overseas (BSO). We are a thriving British international school, located in The Springs area of Dubai's Emirates Hills, delivering high-quality National Curriculum for England education to over a thousand students aged 3 to 18.

Our mission of "Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve" perfectly captures the ethos of our great school, where students thrive in a nurturing yet challenging environment—able to achieve the best possible educational outcomes and flourish as individuals during the experience.

It is this warmth of spirit that sets DBSEH apart, where every student, every member of staff, and every parent can find their place. Schools are often talked about as being "happy places," but DBSEH is made up of happy people—happy to be respected, valued, and appreciated, given every opportunity to succeed in a way that is meaningful to them.

DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum

Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC, and GCE A-Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. We feel the opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive and varied Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme.

Recruiting STEAM Teacher

At DBSEH, we are looking to appoint enthusiastic and committed outstanding teachers. Our teachers are always experienced in teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK, with additional experience in an international setting considered an advantage.

Aside from experience, personality is very important. We look for inspirational teachers who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you are able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative, and dynamic attitude, then we want to hear from you!

Professional Requirements
  • High-quality degree in subject area.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK.
  • An individual with confidence and a proven track record of outstanding results as a leading subject teacher.
  • GCSE and A-Level teaching experience essential.
  • Cleared police and safeguarding background checks.

What we offer

Taaleem provides a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package including an attractive tax-free salary, medical insurance, and an annual flight allowance. To support international teaching staff arrivals, excellent, high-quality purpose-built accommodation equipped with facilities and amenities are offered; alternatively, supporting locally established teaching staff, an attractive housing rental allowance is offered.

As part of the Taaleem Group, you will also qualify for great corporate discounts with many service providers in Dubai.

Beyond package benefits, student and staff wellbeing is central to our ethos at DBS Emirates Hills. We know that to facilitate great teaching we need to satisfy the needs of our teachers, both personally and professionally. By joining the DBS Emirates Hills community, you can expect to be made to feel welcome.
