Job description
Provides support to the Project Quality Manager in delivering the project quality management system. Reports to the Project Quality Manager and has a reporting line to the Quality Assurance Discipline Manager. The Electrical QA/QC Engineer ensures that all electrical systems installations and materials used in projects comply with industry standards, project specifications, and relevant international codes.This role requires overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes, preparing documentation, and coordinating with project teams to achieve high quality project outcomes.
Roles and responsibilities- Under general supervision, supports with the implementation of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and contract requirements.
- Under general supervision, supports with the implementation of the project quality requirements in accordance with the PQP and contract.
- Under general supervision, supports the audit program to monitor adherence and identify improvements to the PQMS.
- Monitor and report to the Project Quality Manager on the effectiveness of the PQMS.
- Under general supervision, uses knowledge and skills in identifying deviations from project requirements and ensures that systems and procedures are established to avoid recurrence.
- Under general supervision, supports the monitoring of the application and effectiveness of the PQMS.
- Under general supervision, supports and assists supplier and subcontractor quality plans and programs for any purchase orders/contracts placed as applicable.
- Develop and implement quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures and plans for electrical works.
- Monitor and control inspections of electrical materials, equipment, and systems to ensure compliance with approved specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Ensure that all manufacturing and procurement activities meet the required quality levels and project requirements.
- Review and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality records.
- Generate periodic quality reports for management review.
- Communicate with project stakeholders regarding quality-related matters, deviations, and improvements.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure purchased materials and equipment meet specified quality standards.
Educational experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC for electrical systems in manufacturing or industrial projects.
Knowledge of international standards and codes such as:
- IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)
- IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
- NEC (National Electrical Code)
- BS (British Standards)
- ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)
Professional accreditation preferred
Successful completion of ISO 9001:2015 quality auditor training or transition course preferred.
