Role Overview
Downtown Design is the leading fair for high-quality, contemporary design in the Middle East. With the fair now present in two cities (Dubai and Riyadh), we are seeking a highly motivated Fair Director to work on both cities alongside the current Fair Director, as well as leading the Riyadh edition of Downtown Design.
Key Responsibilities
Downtown Design (Dubai and Riyadh):
- Exhibitor Recruitment: Recruit exhibitors for Downtown Design Dubai and Riyadh, identifying and closing top-tier brands, manufacturers, and design studios to showcase their products at our fairs.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, industry associations, and other key stakeholders, maximizing the level of satisfaction and engagement on both fairs.
- Strategic Planning: Participate to the design and execution of the strategy for Downtown Design. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to elevate both fairs and to drive exhibitor participation as well as attendee engagement.
- Creative Direction: Participate to the creative growth of both fairs (curation, content, layout, programmes, etc.)
Downtown Design Riyadh:
- Fair Direction: Take full ownership of Exhibitor Recruitment, Relationship Management, Strategic Planning, Creative Direction (as defined above) for the Riyadh fair, while ensuring consistency with the overall Downtown Design strategy
- Creative thinker with a passion for design, interiors and innovation.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a client-focused role (Business Development / Sales / Client or Commercial Development, Marketing, Communications), related to the interior design or luxury industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to the development and execution of comprehensive plans to achieve organizational objectives.
