About this role:
Project Leader:
Oversee all aspects of landscaping projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Client Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood and met.
Team Coordinator:
Manage and direct teams, including designers, field crews, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals.
Resource Manager:
Optimize the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, for efficient project delivery.
Compliance Overseer:
Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Planning and Scheduling:
Create detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with client expectations and budget constraints.
Set realistic timelines for each phase of the project and monitor progress to prevent delays.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with designers to finalize creative concepts and ensure they align with client visions.
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain seamless operations and timely delivery of materials.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses to avoid cost overruns.
Approve purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documents while maintaining cost control.
On-Site Supervision:
Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Lead teams in resolving unexpected challenges, such as adverse weather conditions or design modifications.
Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks at various stages of the project to ensure the work meets technical specifications, client expectations, and the companys standards.
Document and address any deviations from the original plan or design.
Communication and Reporting:
Provide regular updates to clients and senior management, including detailed progress reports, timelines, and financial summaries.
Communicate project changes or challenges effectively to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and swift decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all work adheres to local laws, safety standards, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals for projects as required by local regulations.
Daily Operations:
Oversee day-to-day activities of landscaping teams on-site, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to project schedules.
Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to ensure uninterrupted workflows.
Problem-Solving:
Address on-site issues promptly, including technical difficulties, staffing shortages, or material delays, to minimize disruptions.
Implement contingency plans for unforeseen challenges, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
Client Engagement:
Conduct pre-project meetings to discuss goals, designs, and timelines with clients.
Organize project walkthroughs during and after completion to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
Documentation and Handover:
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including plans, changes, invoices, and client communications.
Prepare final project documentation, conduct handovers, and provide post-project support to clients.
Team Development:
Mentor and train team members to build skills and improve efficiency, ensuring the workforce is well-prepared for future projects.
Provide regular performance feedback and recognition to maintain high team morale.
Post-Project Review:
Conduct evaluations after project completion to identify areas for improvement and gather lessons learned for future projects.
Collect client testimonials and case studies to showcase successful projects for marketing purposes.
Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:
In addition to all job specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Basatin health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations.All employees are personally responsible to familiarize themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Basatin HSE department regularly updates existing and introduce new policies, procedures and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.
Information Security responsibilities:
- Comply with Basatin Information Security Policies
- Be aware of and fulfil their information security responsibilities
- Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information have taken the Security Awareness Training
- Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
- Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
- Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
- Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Preferred fields: Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Business Administration (MBA), or a specialized landscaping program can be an added advantage
- 5 to 7 years in Landscape Industry
- Ability to inspire and motivate team members, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Experience in resolving conflicts and making decisive decisions to keep projects on track.
- Proficiency in conveying ideas and expectations clearly to clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Active listening skills to understand client needs and team concerns.
- Expertise in developing comprehensive project plans, including defining scope, setting timelines, and allocating resources effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each progresses smoothly.
- Skill in identifying potential issues early and developing effective solutions promptly.
- Flexibility to adapt plans as project dynamics change.
- Competence in creating and managing project budgets, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently.
- Ability to monitor expenses and make adjustments to keep projects within financial constraints.
- Understanding of landscape design principles, horticulture, and construction processes.
- Familiarity with design software and tools relevant to landscape architecture
- Skill in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their expectations are met and addressing any concerns.
- Ability to communicate project progress and outcomes effectively to clients.
