Job Description

The Preparatory Year Program at BMC Dubai is seeking a qualified and motivated Computer Science Faculty Member to teach foundational computer science courses. The role supports digital literacy and computational thinking for students preparing to enter medical and health sciences programs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, student mentoring, and curriculum alignment with KHDA and QFEmirates standards.

Core Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning
  • Teach Introductory Computer Science courses, including topics such as computing fundamentals, programming basics, data structures, and digital literacy.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive classes using digital tools, simulations, and real-world applications relevant to health and science contexts.
  • Ensure that all instructional materials and delivery meet KHDA regulations, QFEmirates learning outcomes, and academic integrity standards.
Academic Support
  • Mentor and advise preparatory year students to support their transition into digitally integrated health and medical fields.
  • Participate in student evaluations, early academic support interventions, and progress monitoring.
Curriculum & Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate on the development, review, and enhancement of Computer Science curriculum and assessments.
  • Contribute to institutional quality assurance efforts, including KHDA audits, self-studies, and documentation.
Professional Development & Research
  • Stay current in Computer Science education, particularly trends relevant to higher education and healthcare technology.
  • Maintain an up-to-date teaching portfolio and continuous professional development (CPD) record as per KHDA expectations.
  • Participate in research, educational innovation, or cross-disciplinary projects as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Masters in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • A valid or in-process UAE MOE Equivalency Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience in higher education or foundation/preparatory programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach introductory computing and IT concepts effectively to diverse student groups.
  • English proficiency: IELTS Academic Band 7+ (or equivalent) if the degree was not taught in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in KHDA-regulated or UAE higher education institutions.
  • Familiarity with technology in healthcare education or integrating computing skills in health-related academic pathways.
  • Experience with curriculum development and digital learning platforms.
