Job description
As a pool technician, you will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and water quality of all swimming pools, Jacuzzis, and water features across the hotel property. The role ensures that all systems are functioning properly, water is safe and clean, and all work is in compliance with local health and safety regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspection and testing of pool water for pH, chlorine, and other chemical levels, ensuring compliance with health standards.
- Add chemicals such as chlorine, acid, and algaecide in appropriate amounts to maintain water balance.
- Clean pools, Jacuzzis, and water features by skimming, vacuuming, brushing surfaces, and cleaning filters and strainers.
- Monitor and maintain pool pumps, heaters, filters, and dosing systems to ensure proper operation.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Maintain logbooks of chemical usage, readings, maintenance activities, and inspections.
- Ensure all safety and warning signs are in place and clearly visible.
- Respond to maintenance requests from other departments, including guest concerns about pool areas.
- Assist with the upkeep of the pool deck area, including lighting, furniture, and cleanliness.
- Work closely with the health club or recreation teams to ensure seamless guest experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a pool technician in a hotel, resort, or recreational facility.
- In-depth knowledge of pool maintenance, chemicals, filtration systems, and water safety regulations.
- Ability to test water and adjust chemical levels accurately.
- Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and record-keeping skills.
