About the Position

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology Department at an Applied Technology Institute is seeking a qualified and motivated Instructor in Intelligent Systems.

The department delivers Applied Bachelor programs, focusing on hands-on, industry-relevant education.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechatronics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and programming, with the ability to effectively teach and engage students across different academic levels.

The role emphasizes applied learning, student-centered teaching, and integration of modern intelligent technologies into engineering education.

• PhD's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Intelligent Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge in Mechatronics Systems, Autonomous and Unmanned Systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Programming.
• Practical and applied experience in areas such as:
• Machine learning and AI applications in engineering
• Robotics and automation
• Embedded systems and control
• Programming (e.g., Python, C/C++, or similar)
• Machine learning and AI applications in engineering
• System modeling and simulation
• Ability to teach and adapt content across Applied Bachelor levels.
• Ability to teach a range of courses related to artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, computational methods, and autonomous technologies.

• Deliver high-quality teaching in Intelligent Systems, AI-related areas, programming, and autonomous/unmanned systems across multiple program levels.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and instructional strategies aligned with learning outcomes and applied education standards.
• Supervise student projects, including capstone and applied research projects.
• Integrate practical, hands-on learning approaches into teaching and assessment.
• Participate in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage with industry trends and contribute to innovation and applied research within the department.

• Strong communication, teaching, and student engagement skills.
• Experience with AI frameworks, robotics platforms, ROS, or unmanned systems (UAV/UGV).
• Industry experience in automation, robotics, or AI-based systems (preferred).
• Ability to mentor students in applied projects, innovation activities, and competitions.
• Commitment to applied, student-centered learning in a technology-focused environment.
