Job Purpose:

The technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite engineers and any third-party vendors. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine building maintenance tasks and daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
• Check the condition of all facility equipment daily and keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and ELV equipment.
• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical systems.
• Maintain and operate all mechanical/HVAC related systems and associated equipment, mechanical equipment, and building management system.
• Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Create job cards in the CAFM (FSI) mobile app as per site requirements and close the job cards assigned by engineers.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
• Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
• Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, mechanical systems, ELV systems, HVAC systems, and other trade-related systems.
• Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
• Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
• Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required.
• Attend training sessions and seminars.
• Perform other assigned tasks as requested.

Skills Required:

• Good knowledge of mechanical systems (generators, chillers, pumps, motors, bearings).
• Good knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, chillers, VRV).
• Good knowledge of ELV systems (DDC, BMS, access control system, CCTV, fire alarm system).
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and associated tools and equipment.
• Skill in installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of mechanical system equipment and components.

Personal Skills:

• Basic English knowledge is required.
• Basic working knowledge of PC systems and CAFM mobile apps.
• Persistent and self-motivated.
• Excellent organizational skills and initiative to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to meet demanding time constraints.
• Self-motivated and independent.
• Excels with ambiguous situations as a chance to show leadership.
• Strong team player with the ability to influence, develop, and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.

Qualifications:

• Technical diploma degree or ITI with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• 1-2 years experience in data center maintenance field.
• 3+ years total experience in mechanical/HVAC field in a similar environment.

Other Requirements:

• Data center certifications will be an added advantage.
