Summary:

We're looking for a hands-on, strategic Financial Controller to lead our finance function through the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Controlling:

• Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements.
• Collaborate with the Senior Accountants to streamline month-end closing activities and reporting to METRO AG.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Conduct regular analysis on actual spend versus budget and ensure expenditures do not exceed target.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Close monitoring of Cash Flow and NWC against budget.

Team Management:

• Supervise a team of Accountants, providing guidance and support.
• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including treasury and cashflow management.
• Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and facilitate professional development for the team.
• Address audit queries and implement necessary improvements ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Collaboration with stakeholders:

• Maintain effective communication with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and support.
• Work closely with various departments to help drive business performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Support on pricing strategies and initiatives.
• Monitor and manage commercial contracts with customers & suppliers.
• Support commission target settings & scheme calculations.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• Professional Qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA/ACCA Preferred).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS), financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment and ability to meet activities deadlines.
• Business-partnering mindset; project management experience.
• Independently manage multiple tasks, projects and ability to prioritize.
• Advanced Excel/PowerBI skills
