Overview
AtkinsRéalis' Infrastructure in the Middle East continues to grow, and we are seeking motivated Emirati Nationals to join our team as Graduate Road Engineers. We deliver a wide range of projects across the region, from strategic transport planning through to detailed highway and urban road design, supporting sustainable mobility and world-class infrastructure for cities, communities, and major developments.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop strong technical foundations, gain hands-on project experience, and work alongside experienced engineers on complex and high-profile schemes.
Your role
As a Graduate Road Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of road and transportation infrastructure projects under the guidance of senior engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of road and highway designs, drawings, and technical documentation across concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
- Supporting the development of geometric alignments, cross-sections, junction layouts and vertical alignments.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including traffic, , utilities, structures, and other engineering disciplines, to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Managing allocated tasks effectively, meeting deadlines, and following established quality and safety procedures.
- Demonstrating commitment to professional development by improving technical skills, learning applicable standards and guidelines, and keeping abreast of emerging tools, digital workflows, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in highways or infrastructure design.
- Basic knowledge of road design standards, codes, and engineering principles, with a strong desire to learn and develop technical expertise.
- Awareness of mid- to large-scale road or infrastructure projects; exposure to urban roads, highways, interchanges, or transport corridors is an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with Civil 3D, OpenRoads, or similar road design software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical ideas.
- Interest in transportation infrastructure development within the Middle East is a plus.
