Project Engineer - Bridge

Employment: Full Time
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in bridge maintenance, particularly in bridge expansion joints and bearing maintenance. The successful candidate will oversee, coordinate, and manage maintenance and rehabilitation projects for existing bridge structures to ensure safety, durability, and compliance with engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute bridge maintenance projects with a focus on expansion joints and bearings.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate the condition of bridge components.
- Supervise and coordinate field teams during maintenance activities, ensuring safety and quality.
- Develop and review technical specifications, repair methods, and maintenance schedules.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and government agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare detailed reports, engineering drawings, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and material requirements.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support the implementation of asset management and bridge preservation programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in bridge maintenance and rehabilitation.
- Proven expertise in bridge expansion joints and bearing systems, including inspection, repair, and replacement procedures.
- Strong knowledge of bridge design codes and maintenance standards (e.g., AASHTO, IRC, BS EN).
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical documents, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience in managing maintenance projects, including cost estimation and scheduling.
