Responsibilities:
Acts as electrical engineering team lead for feasibility and concept study, pre-FEED, FEED, basic engineering, and tender design for the assigned projects.
Acts as electrical lead on the detailed engineering project for the assigned projects.
Reviews ITT documents. Prepares TQs, technical inputs, and man-hour estimates for proposals.
Prepares and reviews technical queries and actively participates in the stage of data gathering from clients.
Ensures all electrical engineering deliverables are prepared and issued in adherence with project schedule, tender requirements, fit for purpose and quality, and completes the project within the budgeted hours.
Proactively analyses and identifies design and constructability issues, schedule impacts, design variations with tender documentation, long delivery items, etc., and informs project manager and team.
Possesses effective design and implementation knowledge of various electrical systems and prepares applicable project documentation.
Has good design and application knowledge of various electrical types and latest state-of-the-art technologies available in the market and selects suitable instruments based on techno-commercial evaluation.
Prepares documentation such as design basis, specifications, reports, scope of works, philosophies, method statements, datasheets, material requisitions, calculations, I/O lists, instrument index schedules, cause and effects, and material take-offs.
Provides inputs and reviews engineering drawings.
Actively participates in workshops such as design review, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and constructability.
Ensures that correct input data, codes, and standards are used and adhered to.
Conducts site visits to client facilities as required, including site surveys and data collection system adequacy checks.
Coordinates the preparation, quality control, internal quality procedures, approval, issue, and, where applicable, client approval of electrical engineering documents and drawings.
Ensures all electrical deliverables are issued fully aligned with all other disciplines such as process, piping, electrical, civil, and structural.
Ensures the complete and thorough review of all other discipline documents.
Ensures the designers are familiarized with the scope of the project in order to prepare all drawings and details in full compliance with the project requirements.
Liaises with designers for inputs for 3D model in the preparation of drawings and details.
Works with other discipline engineers within PMC, EPC contractor, vendors, and client/operation/site interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality electrical engineering execution and integrity.
Contributes input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
Proactively maintains client plan and schedule ensuring timely turnaround of EPC engineering consultants, contractors, and contractor comments.
Represents client on and off site as appropriate.
Conducts technical evaluation of bids, issues bid technical clarifications, technical evaluation reports, and recommendations.
Participates in relevant meetings such as HAZID, design reviews, model review, and technical workshops.
Attends FAT/SAT and undertakes business trips and site visits.
Provides on-site engineering support and consultation during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages. Witnesses and signs off construction activities as completed, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of the new systems.
Manages change management and variation inputs. Identifies and lodges scope/design changes for approval.
Manages internal interfaces with project managers and project engineering managers for the assigned projects.
Provides technical guidance and job training to discipline engineers and junior engineers to ensure schedule adherence and quality of engineering documents.
Attends meetings with clients, third parties, etc.
Attends all company-organised training courses when invited.
Maintains awareness of company QHSE policy and integrated management system. Complies with company QHSE rules and performs activities required by relevant procedures on these issues.
Requirements:
- 18 years of experience.
Experience in feasibility studies, conceptual design, pre-FEED, and FEED design in natural gas and/or crude oil processing plants as a lead engineer.
Minimum 2 years working experience as a lead engineer with ADNOC offshore.
Academic education to BS or equivalent level minimum in electrical engineering from an accredited university. Postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
Strong technical knowledge in the relevant discipline.
Strong design and analytical skills with problem-solving ability.
Good verbal and written communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, and flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
Teamwork skills.
Familiar with international codes and standards and company standards.
