We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Engineer to join our Team in the UAE.
Position Overview
Tendering activities mostly pre-contract duties such as: Preparation of Bill of quantities, quantity take-offs / measurements to various stages of documents from concept design, schematic, details, issue for construction stages, value engineering, cost plan, variation, identify any conflicts, raise relevant queries, coordination on the design, etc.and all relevant scopes / duties during tendering.
Core Job Functions
Review Tender & IFC information model issued by consultants (2D drawings, BIM models & asset data) as per ISO19650.
Resolve competing and/or conflicting elements into design deliverables & take necessary actions. (RFI, CVI, workshops etc).
Manage the Civil / Infrastructure Deliverables during the design and construction supervision stages to ensure the adherence to the contract documents and established project's objectives.
Supports the design manager in submittal planning and other documents as required.
Coordinate multi discipline info and ensure liaise with all parties. Ability to foresee constraints and act.
Prepare and raise RFIs & CVIs. Ensure the response clarity on the queries raised.
Assist the Design coordinator in the management of Subcontractor works and point out any technical deviation.
To be responsible for ensuring the modeler/draughtsman have the correct information for updating the shop drawings. Ensure document submittals are completed in a timely manner
Support the Design team in sub-contractor coordination process.
Ability to review & do follow up on DFC, EI or DCR.
Reviews direct work/Subcontractor's shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract.
Track and maintain up to date drawing delivery schedule. To ensure all work is passed to the document controller for publishing.
Support the Coordinator and Manager by providing information for site queries.
Liaise with the Planning Department to update the working program
Support the Temporary Works coordinator, ensuring all temporary works are designed accurately.
Support & ensure as-built/redline process. Collect the information for as built drawings, passing it to the modeler to complete the detailed drawing, then checking the details to ensure they are accurate.
Requirements:
- 3 Year Diploma in Civil Engineering
- 3 years experience in design office of contractor/ Subcontractor as Technical Engineer or Similar.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD & Autodesk Revit for Design review.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat & MS Office
- Good written & Spoken English.
- Revizto/ Navisworks or similar
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience of working in Shared Collaborative Environment (CDE)
- BIM principles & Basic awareness
