Procurement Assistant

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, internal departments, and the procurement team to streamline the purchasing process while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

• Assist in sourcing, comparing, and evaluating suppliers and vendors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
• Follow up with suppliers on order status, delivery schedules, and lead times.
• Maintain and update procurement records, databases, and documentation.
• Support the procurement officer/manager in vendor management and price negotiations.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and finance teams to ensure timely receipt and payment of goods.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to orders, invoices, or discrepancies.
• Prepare periodic reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing support role (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment).
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar is an advantage).
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Salary: AED 5,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
