Food People have partnered with a leading pasta manufacturing business to hire a Business Development Manager Private Label to join their team in Dubai, UAE.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing private label opportunities in the pasta category across the GCC and wider international markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG or food manufacturing sales, with experience in private label development, retail and distributor management, and a deep understanding of pasta or dry grocery products.This role is key to driving business growth, building strong commercial partnerships, and managing strategic accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Identify, target, and develop new private label business opportunities in the pasta segment, focusing on retail, distributors, and foodservice clients across the GCC and beyond.
- Develop and execute a structured commercial strategy to grow market share, improve profitability, and meet revenue targets.
- Work closely with clients to understand product requirements and deliver tailored pasta solutions in line with private label specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, R&D, supply chain, marketing, and regulatory) to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay ahead of consumer trends, price movements, and competitor activity.
- Ensure risk management through proper contract negotiation, pricing structures, and credit control in collaboration with finance and legal teams.
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and regular performance reporting to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Represent the company at international exhibitions, trade shows, and client meetings to grow visibility and strengthen customer relationships.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG, or private label.
- Experience working with private label clients (retailers, distributors, or foodservice operators) is essential.
- Strong understanding of pasta or similar dry food categories (e.g., grains, pulses, snacks).
- Proven ability to build long-term partnerships and manage complex sales cycles in international markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, or a related field; an MBA or similar qualification is a plus.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
