Accountant / Cost Accountant – F&B Industry

Job Description

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will support financial planning, budgeting, and help optimize profitability through effective cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost calculations for recipes and menu items.
• Analyze food and beverage cost trends and suggest pricing strategies.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual and theoretical costs.
• Monitor monthly costs to ensure adherence to budget targets.
• Identify and report inefficiencies, wastage, or overspending.
• Maintain proper documentation and financial records related to F&B operations.
• Ensure that all transactions comply with internal policies and FTA (Federal Tax Authority) VAT regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Review and reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Monitor and control inventory levels; participate in stock counts.
• Prepare and analyze monthly inventory, consumption, and wastage reports.
• Track staff meal consumption and allocate costs accordingly.
• Review and post petty cash and credit card expenses.
• Support the Finance Manager in implementing effective cost control systems.
• Respond to internal queries related to costs and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Perform periodic audits and spot checks across departments to ensure compliance.
• Stay updated with market trends affecting raw material and labor costs.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 25 years of experience in accounting or cost control, preferably in F&B, hospitality, or retail sectors.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, cost analysis, and FTA compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
