Job Purpose
Perform preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting mechanical maintenance activities of the pipeline equipment to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Maintenance- Perform preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting mechanical maintenance activities of the pipeline equipment and carry out various tests in accordance with established procedures and work permit requirements to ensure efficient operations.
- Carry out 'pigging' operations on the pipeline in accordance with company procedures.
- Record readings at various cathodic protection test points along the pipeline and report low readings or other abnormalities for necessary action.
- Carry out pipeline patrolling duties and report any unauthorized or hazardous work being performed on or near pipeline right of way.
- Oversee contractors working on company assets, or any other third party working on or near the pipeline to ensure there is no damage to the pipeline system. Inspect civil works during construction projects to ensure the work is safe and according to the specification.
- Monitor the pipeline system to record the field process parameter readings.
- Ensure that the required tools, spares, and maintenance equipment are available to meet maintenance requirements.
- Prepare scope of work activities such as safety requirements, permits to work, special tools, and materials.
Minimum Qualification
Technical diploma or secondary school certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
4 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
