Senior Specialist Aviation Safety and Environment Audit & Inspection
Role Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring that Aviation Safety & Environment Sector internal processes and customer services are implemented correctly and consistently. Plan work with a team of auditors and inspectors to examine the quality of sector’s services, identify any issues with these items, and determine how best to resolve them.
To provide overall direction and management to the auditing and inspection Team of the sector to improve performance at all levels and leverage customers’ happiness through innovative processes, cost effective excellent services, enforcing innovation culture, and facilitate effective and efficient delivery of the planned programs across the sector.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Quality Management: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of Aviation Safety & Environment policies and manualsfor review and as a basis for continuous improvement and is capable of achieving the sector’s goals and objectives. Arranges regular reviews with sector units’ heads and ensure that they address all relevant quality issues.
- Internal/External Audit Oversight: develop, implement, monitor annual internal and external audit and inspection plans for the sector’s services, and monitor audit assignments from planning, fieldwork, reviews and improvements outcomes. Ensure that audit follow-ups are scheduled and conducted on time.
- Service & Process Improvement: Analyze outcomes of existing continuous improvement mechanisms implemented in the sector and assure their effectiveness and implement new initiatives to solve issues and enhance stakeholders’ happiness.
- Performance Management: ensure proper knowledge, resources are available when, and where needed for Improvement initiatives, and most importantly ensure that the expected outcome is produced in a timely, cost-effective and quality controlled manner.
- Risk Management: Ensure the implementation of regular Risk Assessment for all key Sector’s organizational units and maintain departmental wise Risk Libraries.
- Governance: Maintain the governance policies, Aviation safety, and environment regulations to ensure effective implementation by arranging to conduct regular audits or inspections.
- Training Program Creation: Design and impart training programs in Aviation Safety & Environment inspections’ skills to sector’s representatives engaged in audits and inspections. Coordinate Awareness and Training programs in the sector.
- Information Gathering: Conduct evaluation of current audits and inspections carried out in Aviation Safety & Environment sector by meeting with subject matter experts within the organizational units to gather information and analysing this information for improvement purposes.
- Aviation Safety & Environment Consulting: Provide consultancy services in the area of aviation safety and environment to individuals, sections, and departments of the sector.
- Perform other organizational excellence related duties as may be assigned.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any equivalent in the Aviation Field.
Preferred Certifications:
- Air Traffic control Certificates
- Certificate/Diploma in Aviation Environment
- Safety Management System certification
Professional Experience:
- At least (10-15) years’ working experience in Aviation Safety & Environment field.
- Extensive training and experience in the field of air traffic control and Aviation safety
