As a Security Assurance Inspector you will be part of the Security Assurance team, the primary role of the AVSEC Security Officer to provide support to Security Assurance Controller on the implementation of a total AVSEC Compliance and Assurance management framework by ensuring quality control activities are conducted in a timely manner.Systematically plan, implement, and report on audits, inspections, tests and exercises across the network as well as of the start-up new stations whilst ensuring the effective implementation of the AOSP, SSP, station specific and SOPs standards and international aviation regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Arrange, prepare, and conduct audits, inspections, and tests as per the calendar and in line with current requirements and audit minimums, focusing on areas with elevated level of findings and high-risk areas.
- Support Security Assurance Controller with all industry and government audits (IOSA, ISAGO, GCAA, AA and regulators of country of operations/member states, customer air-carrier, third parties, internal and external departments etc.) as required.
- Recommend improvements to policies and procedures, identifying areas for development based on observed trends and operational needs.
- Collate data from inspections and observations to analyse trends and maintain detailed information on records.
- Ensure meticulous maintenance and verification of the accuracy of all collected information and data in the realm of security assurance.
- Follow-up with outstations to obtain root cause, corrective and preventive actions on all overdue findings, escalating as necessary to senior management.
- Support the assessment of standards against defined programs and competitor benchmarks, contributing to enhancing service standards. Apply AVSEC quality control & assurance tools and statistical techniques to detect patterns and recommend quality improvements. Assist in presenting trends and areas needing improvement.
- Possess knowledge of aviation security standards and recommended practices such as ICAO Annex 17, Doc. 8973, GCAA NCASP and NCAQCP, acts of unlawful interference, and AVSEC-related conventions.
- Support the review, preparation, and alignment of AOSP, SSPs, SOPs (including those of contracted aircraft operators), AVSEC standards, procedures, and related documents. Ensure effective implementation of documented criteria, aligning ground practices and procedures accordingly.
Qualifications & experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- 3+ years experience in security (general)
- 12 years schooling or equivalent
You'll have an edge if you have:
- Experience in AVSEC / audit knowledge/skills
- Degree/diploma or certificate on relevant aviation security or airline studies is advantageous.
- Qualified inspector / auditor - knowledge in ACC3 & RA3
- Experience in airline operations would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge in using relevant quality tools and report writing skills.
- Experience in the airline industry.
- Exceptional team management and training skills.
- Industry related certification i.e. aviation security from IATA, ICAO and other relevant recognised organisations.
- Desired knowledge of aviation security standards and recommended practices e.g. Annex 17, Doc. 8973 of ICAO, NCASP and NCAQCP of GCAA and of other countries, acts of unlawful interference, AVSEC related conventions.
