Responsibilities:

• Undertake their duties as defined in the applicable legal requirements, within the contract, and as per Dar PMC and the Client's HSE Management System.
• Check and verify that the occupational health and safety risks in the workplace are adequately assessed and managed.
• Review and ensure the adequacy of the proposed HSE control measures and arrangements in the contractor's plans, method statements, risk assessments and other project-related HSE documents.
• Ascertain that occupational HSE incidents occurring on the project are investigated and reported adequately.
• Provide professional support and advice to the Project Management Team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
• Undertake audits and inspections to identify violations and non-conformities, recommend corrective action and prepare/communicate the associated records.
• Collect and submit HSE performance data for the monitoring and analysis of trends and statistics.
• Ensure effective two-way communication between Dar personnel and the OSH department.
• Monitor and follow up on actions and instructions issued, so far as possible, ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner.
• Plan and organize OHS training of staff.
• Attend project meetings when required to report on relevant health and safety matters.
• Participate in OHS committees and consultation groups as and when required.
• Be familiar with the legal and other requirements applicable to the project and lead by example.
• Provide support to project and operations teams to ensure safe execution of work activities.

Requirements:

• A diploma degree in engineering (in safety, civil or architect) or according to the nature of the project and specialization from a university accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in UAE.
• Not less than 7 years technical experience in construction sites.
• Obtaining a qualification certificate issued by qualifying company for safety staff in construction worksites approved by the Municipality.
• Any other requirements specified by the Specialized Department.
