Safety & Compliance Officer

Job Description

The Safety and Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting the Engineering Director for the provisions, quality control; and the strategic development of the frame work for Engineering operations. He will also assist with the oversight and operational control of Abu Dhabi Aviation Aircraft in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Safety and Compliance Officer will monitor engineering standards of all elements of the engineering department, ensuring that Engineering Operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, and in accordance with regulatory authority and company requirements as stipulated in the AOC and all Engineering Manuals.

• Develops, implements and maintains both Compliance Monitoring Program over CAR-M and Part 145
• Ensures national aviation regulations are observed and implemented appropriately over CAR-M and Part 145
• Liaises with competent CAA aviation authority and surveyor
• Manages findings and noncompliance reports
• Monitors the implementation of a corrective action plan and conduct a follow up to ensure compliance
• Performs audits according to international and regulatory requirements and approved audit plans by following corporate policies and using techniques that deliver objective, measurable results
• Fulfills all stages of the audit process including: scope, objectives, follow-up and closing
• Audits aircraft engineers for the purpose of certification, auditing validity of equipment and tools calibration
• Assesses and monitors third party contracted (or sub-contracted) service providers and suppliers to ensure standards are maintained
• Conducts Management of Change and Risk Assessments for the new and ongoing operations as appropriate.
• Participates in safety investigations including assisting with implementation of agreed recommendations as required.
• Monitors the validity of the Engineering Manuals, and proposes amendments as required;
• Proposes revisions and amendment of procedures required to ensure safe and efficient operations;
• Participates in safety investigations as required
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the Engineering Director.
• Manuals including applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provides support to internal and external Audit and quality checks as required.
• Provides guidance, support and coaching to the team as required.
• Conducts required support to the safety department including (conducting timely and accurate risk assessments, work as a safety action group representative, ensure all reporting employees are aware of the location of first Aid/Employee facilities; ensure al reporting staff are aware of the procedures and information of waste disposal, PPE, MSDs and Smoking policies).
• Abides and ensures abidance of employees to ADA adopted policies and procedures, security and safety regulations as well as local and applicable international regulations.
