Job Summary:
Medium Voltage Field Service Engineer will perform Service, maintenance, testing of MV System (3.3kV 33kV), he should be also able to supervise the installation, testing, repairing, and maintenance of MV equipments. Work requires knowledge of electrical principles, procedures, materials, and HSE standards governing electrical systems upto 33kV.In addition to this requires general mechanical skills and knowledge. The incumbent is responsible for service, maintenance & installing/retrofitting or repairing of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, protection relays, controllers, medium voltage circuit breakers, and disconnect switches; working from schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of electricians hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, perform start-ups, and collects data of low and medium voltage electrical systems, and power metering.
Ensure equipment is fully functional and certified.
Hands-on experience of test equipments : 1Ph and 3Ph secondary injection kit, CB Analyser, CT & VT Analyser, Partial Discharge tester, Hi-Pot, VLF, TTR. CT ratio & saturation, Tan Delta etc (Maintain calibration of various testing equipment)
Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Troubleshoot, repair and replace components in a substation.
Install terminations and perform repairs on medium voltage cables upto 33kV
To perform Open/Close operations for MV Switches/Breakers to de-energize/energize lines or equipment.
Follow proper LOTO procedures to ensure safety for equipments (tests for voltage, apply grounding device, apply locks etc).
Install and maintain transformers, capacitors, insulators, lightning arrestors, switches, circuit breakers, and other accessories used in connection with MV distribution.
Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
Understand and comply with all site safety and environmental regulations, including safe work practices as described in OEM manuals and site conditions
Give constructive feedback to sales and project support team for lead generations, to increase process quality and customer satisfaction
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Power Engineering & Technology
3+ years of hands-on experience testing of electrical power equipment (MV).
Understanding of basic protective relay equipment for transformers and substation equipment; SEL, ABB, Schneider, GE, Siemens, etc
Preference :
Competency Certifications from major Middle East Utilities (SEC, Kahramaa, DEWA, ADDC, EWA etc )
Knowledge of equipment: low voltage, medium voltage, high voltage, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear including switchgear, motors, PT&aposs, CTs, CCVT&aposs, load banks, DC Chargers and generators.
Ability to deal effectively with other employees, outside contractors, and vendors.
Ability to use MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) and other Testing equipment software suites.
Passion for service,flexible 7/24 working hours and no restrictions for both domestic and abroadtravelling
