Senior Solar PV Expert

Job Description

My tasks are:

• Lead and manage key business area & overseeing projects from early stages to commissioning.
• Develop and mentor junior staff, grow the business area, and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
• Closely monitor projects to ensure they are set up, executed, and delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget, adhering to ILFs Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Plan, organize, and schedule workload and resources in line with project schedules, and liaise with ILFs engineering department.
• Work closely with other ILF offices globally to exchange personnel and technical know-how.
• Collaborate with other competence areas related to sustainable energy systems such as hydrogen and wind.
• Support business development by providing technical inputs to proposals (execution strategy, organization charts, schedules, list of deliverables, hour estimates, etc.).
• Lead and coordinate grid impact assessments using standardized commercial software.
• Report regularly to the management team about execution progress, potential issues and provide solutions in case of concerns.

I should:

• 10 years of experience in Engineering & Consulting firms, Solar PV required with at least 5 years in a similar position.
• Understanding of Engineering & Consultancy related contract models, relevant terms, conditions, and project control methods (WBS, CWBS, invoicing, progress).
• In-depth knowledge of the Solar PV industry in GCC/ME.
• Expertise in Photovoltaic Power Plants (PVPP) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and in commissioning & executing safety.
• Experience in commissioning PVPP and BESS with knowledge of safety and HSSE standards and best practices.
• Expertise in executing Safety and Risk Studies (HAZID, HAZOP, PRA) for PV and BESS plants.
• Technical understanding of interfaces between PV, BESS, and other sustainable energy components (e.g., transmission lines, wind, electrolyze).
• Knowledge of Terms and Conditions for Procurement of Goods, Subcontracts for Services & Project Quality Assurance & Quality Control methods.
• Minimum BSc level in electrical/energy engineering.
• Proficiency in English.
