Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure that all Aids to Navigation (Buoys and Beacons) and environmental monitoring devices on the buoys and beacons, in Abu Dhabi waters under the control of AD Ports Group are perfectly maintained to minimize the number of breakdowns.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment and spares required for the maintenance of water quality monitoring devices.
  • Prepare mooring equipment & other spares for AtoN's to ensure successful maintenance of Buoys & Beacons.
  • As instructed by Supervisor AtoN, be part of all yard activities involving crane operations, welding, cutting, grinding, painting etc. while complying with AD Ports Group/ SAFEEN HSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all AtoN's are operating properly at all times and update the Supervisor AtoN with any irregularities in the functioning of these AtoN's.
  • Ensure all water quality monitoring devices, associated Sondes and sensors operate properly at all times and update the supervisor AtoN with any irregularities observed in the functioning of these.
  • Ensure all electrical maintenance involved in AtoN maintenance activities, Environmental monitoring buoys and emergency call outs are done in accordance with AD Ports Group/ SAFEEN HSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure all lanterns, batteries, solar panels, calibration liquids, mesh, tapes, spare sensors, and all associated inventories are regularly monitored/recharged and stored accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures to be followed for AtoN & Environmental water quality buoy maintenance activities.
  • Work with the maintenance technicians in carrying out timely repairs of the Aids to Navigation.
  • Work together with external vendors on works outsourced to an external vendor for timely completion of these activities.
  • Ensure that all the Aids to Navigation operate properly as per standards set out by International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to maintenance yard & workshop procedure for AtoN maintenance.
  • Adheres to safe work practices, near miss and incident reporting.mn
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Electrical / Relevant Similar Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years experience
Required Skills
  • Written & spoken English.
  • Arabic will be advantage.
