Role Description

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining, and reporting the financial activities related to shipping operations, including freight, customs, warehousing, and voyage-related transactions. This role ensures accurate billing, cost tracking, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards while supporting smooth coordination between finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts.

Ensure accurate billing for freight, customs, warehousing, and other services.

Track revenues and expenses for each shipment or voyage.

Prepare voyage profit and loss statements.

Monitor charter hire, demurrage, and freight payments.

Oversee billing, invoicing, reconciliation of accounts, and generate financial reports. also negotiate with carriers, Agents, and track performance metrics.

Process payments to port agents and other vendors.

Ensure timely invoices to customers and collection of dues.

Knowledge of shipping operations and terms (e.g., demurrage, laytime, time charter, in gage, exit entry).

Prepare bank statements, reconciliations, on daily basis

Knowledge in Odoo Software is an advantage

Freight vendor invoices and ensure proper GL coding

Budgeting, cost analysis, and financial planning.

Maintain accurate financial documentation and filing systems.

Collaborate with logistics managers, fleet supervisors, and warehouse heads for accurate financial capture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 57 years of accounting experience in shipping & Logistics Industry.

Strong understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Good command of Arabic & English.
