Position overview

Stantec is currently looking for a structural engineer to join our dynamic team and support a construction supervision project in Ras Al Khaimah.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitoring the structural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Reviewing, approving, and processing all structural technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to structures and architecture.
• Assisting in supervising the work of all structural activities and operations, maintaining progress records, and reporting.
• Reviewing contractors' structural change order proposals and preparing recommendations to the structural PM.
• Liaising with the necessary sub-consultants.
• Reviewing contractors' claims related to structural works and preparing recommendations for claims.
• Reviewing the contractors' project record documents relevant to their discipline.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the startup, testing, commissioning, and handover of the structural works.
• Signing off on completed structural works with completed documentation and maintaining the required records.
• Performing all other duties assigned by the resident engineer.

Qualifications and preferred specifications:

• Minimum 10 years experience in civil and structural engineering with international consultant firms, including 5 years in the UAE/Middle East.
• Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent HSE knowledge and awareness.
• Excellent local authority knowledge and experience.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solutions.
