Cost Controller

Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to oversee and manage the tracking of manpower and machinery costs on a weekly basis. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment between resource consumption, project budget, and progress milestones, contributing to overall project efficiency and financial control

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Tracking & Progress Alignment

• Monitor and report weekly manpower and machinery costs, comparing actual consumption against project progress.
• Identify and address productivity deviations, ensuring optimal resource utilization in line with the approved budget.

1. Budget vs. Actual Performance Analysis

• Continuously evaluate actual cost data against project timelines and progress.
• Update forecasts regularly to reflect on-ground productivity, ensuring the budget is not exhausted before project completion.

1. Documentation & Data Management

• Maintain accurate and organized records, including timesheets, equipment logs, and invoices.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity and support audit readiness.

1. Cost Analysis & Efficiency Improvement

• Conduct weekly cost analyses to detect trends, inefficiencies, or anomalies.
• Recommend and implement cost-saving measures to reduce idle time and maximize operational efficiency.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Liaise closely with Project Managers to ensure that manpower and machinery deployment meets the evolving needs of the project.
• Work collaboratively with Procurement and Operations teams for real-time, consistent cost tracking and reporting.

1. Storekeeper Oversight

• Support the supervision of storekeeping operations to ensure accurate inventory control of materials and equipment.
• Promptly resolve inventory issues to prevent project delays and cost overruns.

1. Software & Systems Usage

• Utilize cost control and project management software to capture, analyze, and report cost data effectively.
• Ensure the use of technology enhances transparency, forecasting accuracy, and reporting efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor&aposs degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
• 35 years of experience in cost control or resource management in a construction or project-based environment.
• Proficiency in cost control software and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
