Wood is recruiting for a senior petrophysicist
Wood is recruiting for a senior petrophysicist to join its UAE business unit focusing on providing petrophysical support to geologic and simulation models for a major onshore brownfield project in Dubai, UAE on a 5/2 work schedule.
This role is a full-time onsite role in Dubai, UAE with travel to Basra, Iraq as needed.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as supply chain, construction, and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.
Projects include both greenfield and brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

- Data analysis, interpretation, and integration of open hole and advanced logs
- Estimation and calculation of porosity, permeability, water saturation, free water level, etc.
- Development of capillary pressure models and mapping of fluid contacts
- Identification of log-facies, lithofacies, oil-bearing zone, etc.
- Creation of reservoir rock typing integrating static and dynamic data
- Provide petrophysical support to geologic and simulation models
- Design formation evaluation programs for current and future drilling activities
- Design core analysis programs and integration of core data, stewardship of SCAL programs
- Conduct reservoir petrophysics studies and formation studies in interdisciplinary reservoir study team
- Develop and mentor less experienced staff

Expected:
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in geological sciences. Master's or doctorate degrees are desirable
- 15 years' work experience in formation evaluation and petrophysics studies
- Experience with log analysis programs (Petrel)
Skills:
- Analytical skills and problem solving
- Communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in written and spoken English
- Knowledgeable in the following disciplines: stratigraphy, seismic interpretation, petrophysics, formation evaluation, production geology, and reservoir engineering
- Worked closely with geologic modelers and simulation engineers on providing petrophysical inputs to geologic and simulation models
- Must have a good understanding of fluid properties and PVT measurements
- Must have experience and knowledge of current computer software for petrophysical analysis
- Exposure and knowledge of geological modelling and reservoir simulation modelling
