Annual Tax-Free Salary: £34,500 - £40,000 +Benefits including housing, flight allowance, medical and gratuity (worth over £15,000)
Contract: Full-time, fixed term for 2 years
Aston Education is working with a thriving and vibrant British international school in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. They are looking for a full-time Head of Year 9 to start in August 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent Teacher of Maths, Science, English, Girls PE, Art, DT or Psychology or a middle leader to develop their leadership skills in supporting colleagues in strengthening their practice.

The job responsibilities include:
As a Head of Year 9, you'llpromote high academic expectations for all students within a year group and monitor the academic progress of students across subjects using assessment data and progress tracking systems.
You'll identify underachievement within a year group and coordinate appropriate interventions in collaboration with teachers, department leaders, and the leadership team.
You'll take primary responsibility for the pastoral care and wellbeing of students within a year group and monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and wellbeing. You'll build strong, positive relationships with students and promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and belonging.
You'll teach Maths, Science, English, Girls PE, Art, DT or Psychology across KS3, KS4 and KS5 and prepare the students for IGCSE and A level exams.
Skills and Qualifications required:
- PGCE and QTS / QTLS
- Degree in Maths, Science, English, PE or Sport, Art and Design or Psychology
- Successful UK teaching experience in Maths, Science, English, Girls PE, Art, DT or Psychology at secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
- An outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent track record of progress and results
- Proven track record of raising educational standards and achievement
- Understanding how to analyse and use data effectively
- Commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
