Legal Compliance Expert (Emiratized Role)

Job Description

The role aims to provide technical expertise in performing tasks and duties related to compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures within the department. This includes monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, preparing and reviewing legal compliance policies and procedures, conducting legal audits and assessments, providing training and guidance to staff, and managing the resolution of complaints and issues related to legal non-compliance to ensure that any shortcomings are addressed, legal loopholes are rectified, and the interests and reputation of the department are protected.

Responsibilities:

• Review of specialized legal compliance methodologies and plans.
• Conducting specialized compliance audits within the department and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Providing specialized legal support to various organizational units on legal issues and regulatory requirements related to legal compliance.
• Implementing the strategic management direction requirements regarding legal compliance.
• Preparing and submitting legal compliance reports in specialized areas to management.
• Conducting investigations into complaints within its jurisdiction concerning cases of non-compliance and potential violations of legal compliance and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Implementing specialized training and awareness plans and programs for employees regarding relevant laws and regulations.
• Analyzing potential legal gaps to identify weaknesses regarding legal compliance in specialized areas and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and changes at the local and federal levels and assessing their impact on the department.
• Technical analysis and in-depth interpretation of laws and regulations in specialized fields.
• Periodic review of policies and regulations in force within its area of expertise to ensure their compliance with the latest legislative changes.
• Assisting in the implementation of the operational plan and approved management projects assigned by his direct supervisor.
• Monitoring the updating of the legal compliance record and following up on the implementation by sectors of action plans related to the required compliance procedures.
• Participating in representing the department in legal disputes related to its area of competence concerning compliance and working to resolve them through legal means.
• Preparing periodic reports for management on compliance status and any potential issues or risks within his area of responsibility.
• Providing support to the legal advisor in conducting the necessary specialized legal research to ensure the adequacy of procedures for filing reports and following up on cases related to violations of legal compliance.
• Conducting specialized research and studies and proposing the creation or amendment of existing legal legislation related to matters of legal compliance.
• Implementing the risk mitigation action plan for the department related to its responsibilities, as provided by the internal audit office.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent.
• Master's degree in law (preferred).
• Certified Legal Compliance Professional (CLCP) or Certified Professional (CCEP) or equivalent.

Experience:

• 6 years of experience.
• Technical expertise in performing tasks and duties related to compliance with laws, regulations, and institutional procedures.
• Experience in Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, preparing and reviewing legal compliance policies and procedures, conducting legal audits and assessments, implementing employee training and guidance, and managing the resolution of complaints and issues related to cases of legal non-compliance to ensure that any shortcomings are addressed, legal loopholes are rectified, and the interests and reputation of the institution are protected.
• Fluent Arabic and English Languages.
