Synopsis

The MCC Duty Engineer - Structures coordinates the daily operations and ad hoc troubleshooting to return the aircraft to service safely and efficiently. He/she provides reports on the daily operation, delays, fleet status including IFE/connectivity, and delay/event reports.

Accountabilities
  • Performs the overall coordination of technical issues/problems received by phone call or radio call. Guides and supports the line maintenance staff in the daily operation to assure that the most efficient course of action is taken to provide a safe and serviceable fleet on time. Monitors VHF calls and ensures timely and quality communication with crews.
  • Delivers engineering support for all structural damages and repairs to line/light/heavy maintenance and outstations.
  • Liaises with OEMs for all structural repairs and defect management repair. Supports the warranty department with engineering information to support insurance or warranty claims.
  • Reviews appropriate MEL reference and issues MEL control number to line engineers.
  • Performs ad hoc troubleshooting support to line engineers and flight crews.
  • Monitors OEM health monitoring tools to proactively identify potential system failures and generates AMOS work orders to carry out troubleshooting.
  • Where no contracted maintenance provider is available, contacts possible providers and applies for one-off approvals for the aircraft certification. Keeps and maintains the "one-off approval" file and ensures that all documents for every approval are available and up to date.
  • Ensures that all work performed is completed in accordance with Etihad's processes, procedures, and is done in a safe manner to the highest possible standards.
Education & Experience
  • Education: High school diploma is required, university or technical degree with a background in aircraft maintenance or similar engineering field is preferred. Qualifications required are ICAO TYPE II license or equivalent and holding at least 2 Etihad aircraft type courses.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of aircraft certifying experience with at least 2 years working within a maintenance control environment using aircraft health monitoring tools. Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.
