Senior Interior Designer

Reports To: Design Director / Head of Design

§ Position Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Senior Interior Designer to join our multidisciplinary architectural consultancy team in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead interior design projects from concept development through detailed design and tender documentation stages, ensuring exceptional design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with local regulations and international standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong design leadership skills, extensive consultancy experience, and a proven track record in delivering residential, hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, and high-end projects within the UAE and GCC region.

§ Key Responsibilities

Concept Design & Design Development

v Lead the development of innovative and creative interior design concepts aligned with client objectives, project requirements, and brand standards.

v Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, material palettes, space planning layouts, and design narratives.

v Develop schematic and design development packages, ensuring consistency of design intent throughout the project lifecycle.

v Conduct client presentations and workshops, effectively communicating design concepts and recommendations.

v Collaborate closely with architects, landscape designers, and engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.

Detailed Design

v Produce and oversee detailed interior design drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, bespoke joinery details, and construction details.

v Prepare material specifications, finish schedules, FF&E schedules, and technical documentation.

v Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality requirements, local authority regulations, building codes, accessibility standards, and project-specific guidelines.

v Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.

v Review and resolve technical design challenges while maintaining design integrity.

Tender Documentation

v Lead the preparation of comprehensive tender packages, including detailed drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope documentation.

v Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications.

v Review contractor queries during tender stages and provide technical clarifications.

v Evaluate contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, and value engineering proposals.

v Support procurement and contractor selection processes from a design and technical perspective.

Project Coordination & Delivery

v Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, programme, and budget objectives.

v Attend client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and design review workshops.

v Conduct site visits during construction stages to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.

v Review mock-ups, samples, and material submissions.

v Support project managers in monitoring project progress and resolving design-related issues.

Qualifications

v Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field.

v Minimum 12 years of professional experience in interior design consultancy.

v Minimum 6 years of UAE/GCC project experience, preferably within a reputable architectural or multidisciplinary consultancy.

v Demonstrated experience in concept design, design development, detailed design, and tender documentation.

v Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality residential, hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, and luxury projects.

Technical Skills

v Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

v Strong knowledge of BIM workflows and project coordination.

v Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

v Experience with SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, 3ds Max, or similar visualization software.

v Strong understanding of construction methodologies, detailing, materials, and specifications.

v Knowledge of Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE building codes, and authority approval processes.
