The role

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC-Senior Quality Engineer (Procurement) - site based for one of our key clients in Abu Dhabi as part of our ADNOC Gas PMC team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be full time site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The key objectives for this role are:

• Lead procurement quality oversight u2013 oversee quality assurance activities related to the procurement of major equipment and services, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and delivery schedules.
• Strengthen supplier quality performance u2013 build and maintain strong relationships with qualified vendors, focusing on consistent quality, reliability, and adherence to international standards and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual quality terms u2013 review and validate purchase orders and supplier documentation to ensure compliance with technical, legal, and quality benchmarks while minimizing risk exposure.
• Support cross-functional quality integration u2013 collaborate with engineering, planning, and procurement teams to embed quality controls throughout the procurement lifecycle and support milestone achievement.
• Drive quality-centric cost optimization u2013 identify opportunities for value engineering and alternative sourcing that enhance quality outcomes while supporting cost-efficiency and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

Operating from the project site, the engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to uphold quality compliance, mitigate risks, and drive supplier performance in alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS).

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

• Procurement quality strategy execution u2013 implement quality-focused procurement strategies that support project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Supplier qualification & evaluation u2013 identify and assess vendors through technical audits, documentation reviews, and compliance checks to ensure quality and reliability.
• Contractual quality compliance u2013 review and validate purchase orders and subcontract agreements to ensure alignment with quality standards and minimize risk exposure.
• Technical documentation review u2013 analyze engineering drawings, datasheets, and specifications to confirm procurement deliverables meet required quality benchmarks.
• Inspection & verification oversight u2013 manage site-based inspections, material verification, and quality documentation for incoming goods and services.
