Lawyer Islamic Family Law Expert (UAE)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Lawyer with deep expertise in Islamic Family Law and strong knowledge of UAE legal systems. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Arabic, with proven experience handling cases related to marriage, divorce, custody, inheritance, and guardianship under Sharia and UAE civil law.

This is a freelance position suited for professionals who can provide legal counsel, draft documents, and represent clients where needed, both remotely and in-person (if required).

• Provide expert legal advice on Islamic family law matters in compliance with UAE legislation.
• Draft, review, and translate legal documents including marriage contracts, divorce agreements, custody arrangements, and inheritance plans.
• Represent or support clients in family court proceedings and legal consultations.
• Liaise with local courts, notaries, and other relevant authorities in the UAE.
• Stay up-to-date on amendments in UAE family and Sharia law.
• Offer bilingual legal support (English and Arabic) tailored to local and expatriate clients.

• Bachelor's degree in Law; UAE bar license or equivalent accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Islamic family law within the UAE legal system.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• In-depth understanding of Sharia principles as applied in UAE courts.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Experience handling both local and international family law matters in the UAE.
• Must be UAE-based or have valid legal access to operate within the UAE jurisdiction.

• Professional, discreet, and culturally sensitive.
• Strong client-facing communication skills.
• Availability to take on assignments on short notice.
• Prior freelance or independent practice experience is a plus.
