Job Purpose:
The cashier holds the responsibility of managing, documenting, and maintaining monetary transactions in a financial organization as per the prescribed standards and procedures of Home Bakery. The monetary transactions include bills paid, to be received, cash deposited, and withdrawals made.He/she records these cash transactions in a financial database and monitors the cash flow. Computer knowledge/Micros Knowledge, cash management principles and account balancing.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the float and revenue of the Outlet's cash till, the system's opening and closing procedures,Taking, and processing orders both at the counter and on the phone
Completing the service checklist and maintaining cashier equipment.
Processed transactions quickly and efficiently.
Maintained a friendly and cordial relationship with the customers by greeting them and assisting them with
all relevant issues.
A knowledge of the Bakery concept and internal policies, including dine-in, delivery, takeaway, events.
An adherence to standards and checklists as detailed in the manual.
Mastering the system, cash handling and any other transaction for daily operations.
Generating bills and processing order tickets from the cash register.
Verifying the amount of cash and credit received.
Handling petty cash, all books, the collection of tips.
Informing the Supervisor / Manager of any discrepancies.
Updating the Supervisor / Manager regarding unusual transactions.
Answering the telephone in a friendly, helpful manner, Taking telephone orders as per company standards.
Responsible for any cash or credit discrepancies.
Ensuring that the counter area is clean and sanitary, according to company standards
Never interrupt a guest transaction to talk to another staff member
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as Cashier or in a similar role or in the food service industry
Positive attitude towards customer service and teamwork
Familiarity with point of sales system
Minimum 2 years experience in the same role in hospitality / restaurant industry.
