Design Engineer

Job Description

Main Scope:

Creating precise 3D Shop Floor Layout Design in Inventor, developing new product designs, and optimizing existing systems using i logic automation. Generate accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and applying value engineering to improve product design and optimize manufacturing processes.

• Create and develop 3D models for components and assemblies of AHUs and FCUs using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop detailed 2D drawings from 3D models, including parts, assemblies, and layout drawings for manufacturing.
• Ensure the accurate representation of all mechanical components, fans, heat exchangers, filters, and other HVAC-related components in the models.
• Perform dimensional and tolerance analysis to ensure designs meet engineering specifications and manufacturability standards.
• Design and create custom parts and assemblies based on project requirements, adhering to specifications.
• Apply value engineering principles to optimize designs.
• Propose design modifications to reduce material usage, manufacturing complexity, and assembly time without compromising product quality.
• Optimize product designs for efficiency in production.
• Develop and implement iLogic automation scripts within Autodesk Inventor to automate repetitive design tasks such as part configuration, part dimensional changes, or material selection.
• Create parameter-driven designs using iLogic to allow easy customization based on project requirements, making the design process more efficient and flexible.
• Manage version control and keep a library of automated templates that can be reused for similar designs.
• Create comprehensive BOMs (Bills of Materials), parts lists, and technical specifications for all designs, ensuring all parts and components are accurately documented.
• Provide accurate reports on design progress, problems encountered, and solutions implemented.
