Consultant - Regulatory Compliance (4 Month Contract)

About the Client

Our client, a leading bank in Dubai, is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Consultant to support a time-critical regulatory programme focused on SME Consumer Protection.

The consultant will play a key role in assessing current frameworks, identifying gaps, and driving remediation to ensure full compliance within the regulatory timeline.

• Conduct a detailed, article-by-article gap analysis across policies, processes, systems, controls, and documentation against CBUAE SME Customer Protection requirements
• Complete and maintain a structured gap register in line with internal programme standards
• Translate identified gaps into clearly defined remediation actions or workstreams for PMO submission
• Where PMO support is not required, coordinate directly with stakeholders to agree remediation timelines and drive closure
• Work closely with project and delivery teams to ensure timely implementation ahead of regulatory deadlines
• Provide regular progress updates, reporting, and management presentations to senior stakeholders

• Strong experience in CBUAE regulatory compliance
• Deep expertise in market conduct, consumer protection, and governance frameworks, particularly within SME and/or retail banking
• Proven track record delivering regulatory gap assessments and remediation programmes
• Experience with Skilled Person reviews or supervisory-led regulatory assessments
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable changes across policies, processes, and systems
• Strong stakeholder management experience, including engagement with senior leadership
• Prior experience within UAE banking environments is essential
• Exposure to Islamic banking regulations is advantageous
