Calypso Technical Engineer

Black Pearl is currently supporting a confidential financial services client in Dubai in the search for an experienced Calypso Technical Engineer / Senior Calypso Engineer to join their technology and treasury systems team.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong hands-on experience in Calypso development, customization, integration, and treasury platforms within banking or financial services environments. The role will focus heavily on technical engineering, system customization, workflow configuration, and integration with multiple upstream and downstream platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and customize solutions within the Calypso platform

Handle technical enhancements, integrations, and system customization projects

Work on Calypso workflow and engine configuration

Support integration with external and internal platforms using FIX, Kafka, Microservices, and related technologies

Collaborate with front office, middle office, back office, and risk teams to support treasury operations

Participate in technical architecture discussions and platform optimization initiatives

Support DevOps activities within the Calypso environment, including Gradle-based deployments

Troubleshoot technical and production-related issues across treasury systems

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:

Strong hands-on experience in Java development

Proven experience in Calypso customization and technical development

Good understanding of Calypso architecture

Experience working on Calypso versions 16, 17, or 18

Hands-on experience with workflow and engine configuration

Strong integration experience involving:

FIX Protocol

Kafka

Microservices

Upstream and downstream systems

Exposure to front office, middle office, back office, and risk functions

Strong technical understanding of treasury products, specifically:

FX (Foreign Exchange)

IRD (Interest Rate Derivatives)

Experience in DevOps within Calypso environments, particularly using Gradle

Banking or financial services industry experience is highly preferred

Good to Have:

Exposure to cloud-based environments

Experience with AI-driven or modern engineering solutions

Knowledge of scalable enterprise integration frameworks
