The TD provides strategic technical leadership across all offices and is accountable for developing high-performing technical teams, systems, and standards that support efficient, risk-managed project delivery. The Technical Director will be responsible for establishing and leading this technical studio across multiple offices, with a primary focus on hubs in Dubai, the Philippines, and Bangkok.

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership and Expertise

The TD establishes technical benchmarks and standards that guide project teams, ensuring that all design outputs are compliant, and buildable.

The Technical Director provides expert knowledge in:

  • Design concepts translated into accurate design documentation across all stages
  • Lead and ensure Design, Production, Room Rollouts workflow efficiency are established implemented and maintained
  • Ensuring design is developed in coordination with Specifications and sub consultants
  • Embedding Operator guidelines, Building codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Emerging technologies and digital delivery platforms, including BIM

Design Development and Documentation Governance

The TD ensures creative ideas become clear, coordinated, and high-quality technical documentation that can be confidently built:

  • Leads the development and governance of technical documentation standards
  • Ensures all project deliverables meet internal quality benchmarks and client
expectations
  • Works closely with design leadership to translate creative concepts into detailed
technical drawings across all project stages
  • Ensures all documentation is fully developed and coordinated with design intent,

specifications, and other consultant disciplines

Technical Leadership in Project Delivery

The TD is responsible for owning the technical integrity of a project from concept through construction. Oversee technical execution through the development team across all stages of delivery, actively guiding teams, validating design decisions, and reducing technical risk to ensure smooth project delivery by ensuring teams are:

  • Validating design feasibility and constructability.
  • Providing technical solutions to design and construction challenges.
  • Collaborating with designers, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitoring technical risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • The TD ensures projects move efficiently from concept through construction with

minimal technical conflicts or rework.

Quality Assurance and Control

The Technical Director also acts as the custodian of technical quality across the firm by:

  • Conducting systematic reviews of drawings, models, and documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with operator guidelines, building regulations and KZC standards.
  • Providing technical feedback and mentoring project teams.
  • Implementing quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • This role ensures consistency, accuracy, and excellence in technical project output.

Capability Development

The Technical Director is responsible for building, leading, and upskilling the Technical Development team so the organization consistently converts design ideas into high-quality, buildable documentation across all offices. They ensure technical knowledge is not siloed, but shared, taught, and embedded across project teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing technical training programs.
  • Upskilling technical standards, Develops technical capability and consistency across the practice.
  • Creates and delivers training frameworks, not ad-hoc support.
  • Mentors team to raise overall technical confidence and quality.
  • Supporting structured knowledge transfer across the organization.

Training initiatives may include group workshops, project-based training, and

individualized development plans.
  • Enables knowledge transfer and continuity across projects and offices.
  • Recruitment and Talent Development (Assesses technical capability and resourcing

needs, supporting recruitment and evaluation of technical talent).

Technical Department Establishment & Leadership
  • Establish and lead an independent Technical Department operating separately from the Design Department by Q3/Q4 of 2026.
  • Define the department's vision, structure, workflows, and governance across all offices.
  • Centralize technical delivery, ensuring all projects are resourced, coordinated, and
delivered through the Technical Department.
  • Set and enforce technical standards for documentation, constructability, and quality control.
  • Oversee the production of fully coordinated final design packages collaboration with CAD and BIM teams.
  • Build and scale technical studios and leadership capability across key regional hubs, including Dubai, the Philippines, and Bangkok.
  • Develop technical resourcing strategies aligned with project demands and business growth.
  • Implement consistent training, mentoring, and knowledge-transfer frameworks to
strengthen technical capability practice-wide.
  • Act as the senior authority for technical risk management, compliance, and delivery assurance.
  • Establish a succession plan by identifying high-potential leaders and developing them to assume broader strategic responsibilities.

Projects will include:

  • New built and Renovation
  • Design and Post contract stages
  • Hospitality (hotels and F&B)
  • Private residences and residential developments
  • Commercial, retail, and leisure environments, including office spaces, retail locations, and entertainment or recreational facilities

Additional Role and Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the maintenance of quality by tracking PQP compliance and the QC/QA processes.
  • Monitoring and assisting team members to achieve KPIs.
  • Leading by example and ensure the team are providing a professional level of service and consistently exhibiting Kristina Zanic Consultants Service Standard and Values.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a related field of study and at least ten (10+) years of relevant.

technical experience, with 5+years in a senior leadership/management role.

Proven ability to lead technical strategy and delivery across teams/projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate technical issues into business decisions.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, quality standards, and governance relevant to the role.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Possess strong administrative skills, timely project completion, record keeping, monthly reporting, time management and organisational skills.
  • Possess a passion for the design industry, motivation and a team player attitude.
Technical & Leadership Competencies
  • Expertise in technical design/solution and implementation oversight.
  • Ability to set technical standards, policies, and best practices acrossthe organisation.
  • Strong people leadership: mentoring, performance management, team development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to manage complex technical

escalations.

Languages & Skills
  • English (written, reading, spoken).
  • Working knowledge of construction programming and scheduling (Primavera, Aconex, BIM360, Sage, etc.) software.
