AVP – Accounting & Internal Control | Dubai

We are working with a leading international banking institution to hire an AVP – Accounting & Internal Control for its Dubai office.

Thisopportunityoffers broad exposure across financial accounting, hedge accounting, internal controls, tax and regulatory reporting, and finance process improvement across Middle East entities.

The role is ideal for a qualified accountant with banking experience, particularly within treasury products, FX, derivatives, and legal entity reporting.

• Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Finance Internal Controls Framework
• Manage FX and hedge accounting processes, including documentation, effectiveness testing, and accounting entries
• Support financial accounting and legal entity reporting across multiple Middle East entities
• Ensure GL integrity, journal controls, accruals, and month-end reporting accuracy
• Coordinate tax accounting and regulatory reporting requirements
• Support SLA cost monitoring, provisioning, and control oversight
• Assist with IFRS methodology implementation and accounting policy updates
• Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives
• Support audit requests, year-end reporting, and financial statement preparation
• Work closely with regional Finance teams, Treasury, Operations, and UK stakeholders

• Degree educated and fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent)
• Experience within banking finance, financial control, or product control
• Strong understanding of:
• Treasury products
• FX and derivatives
• Hedge accounting (IAS 39 / IFRS 9)
• Legal entity reporting
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle GL
• Strong Excel and financial analysis capability
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or automation tools is advantageous
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions
• Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
