Job DescriptionThe Enterprise Architect (Non-Infrastructure) will spearhead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade software application and data architectures for Healthcare Digital Platforms, with a focus on non-infrastructure aspects such as application design, data modelling, and interoperability.
This role demands deep expertise in software architecture, healthcare interoperability standards, and application development within Microsoft Azure. The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that align with business objectives and advance healthcare innovation in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Architecture Design: Architect scalable, modular, and secure application architectures using microservices, event-driven patterns, and healthcare standards like FHIR, HL7, and CDA, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Data Architecture and Modeling: Design and optimize data models for healthcare data, leveraging Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory to ensure performance, scalability, and data integrity.
- Healthcare Interoperability: Enable seamless data exchange across systems using standards such as FHIR, HL7, CDA, EDI, and clinical terminologies (SNOMED, CPT, LOINC).
- API Design and Management: Develop and document RESTful and FHIR-compliant API specifications, adhering to best practices for design, versioning, and security (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, OWASP).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, developers, and clients to translate requirements into robust application and data architectures, ensuring functional and use case alignment.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and implement application-level security measures, including API security and OWASP best practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for application architectures, API specifications, data models, and integration workflows, promoting clarity and reusability.
- Technical Guidance: Provide mentorship to development teams on architecture patterns, best practices, and implementation strategies, ensuring alignment with the architectural vision.
- Innovation and Standards: Stay updated on emerging software technologies, healthcare standards, and industry trends to design future-ready solutions that enhance interoperability and usability.
- Development Oversight: Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications built with Java (Spring Boot), .NET, React JS, React Native, and JavaScript/TypeScript adhere to architectural designs and performance standards.
- Experience: 12+ years in enterprise software architecture, with at least 5 years focused on designing Healthcare application and data architectures.
- Technical Expertise (Non-Infrastructure):
- Expertise in designing microservices and event-driven application architectures.
- Proficiency in healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, CDA, EDI) and clinical terminologies (SNOMED, CPT, LOINC).
- Strong skills in API design and security, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and OWASP standards.
- Experience with development frameworks and languages such as Java (Spring Boot), .NET, React JS, React Native, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proficiency in data modeling and optimization using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for overseeing CI/CD pipelines and application delivery.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services relevant to application development, such as Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps.
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and application-level security best practices.
- Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or related Azure certifications.
- Certifications in healthcare interoperability (e.g., HL7 FHIR, Rhapsody Integration Engine).
- Experience with IRIS for Health solutions or similar healthcare platforms for application and data architecture.
- Familiarity with integration tools like Rhapsody or Ensemble for healthcare data exchange.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Databricks) for presenting healthcare insights.
- Experience designing architectures for healthcare data migrations and system transitions.
- Ability to speak a European language.
- Currently located in the UAE or willingness to relocate to the United Arab Emirates.
