Treasury Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Treasury Accountant to join our Finance team within the Oil & Gas / EPC sector.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in corporate banking, treasury operations, trade finance, bank facilities and cash-flow management, preferably within an Oil & Gas, EPC or contracting environment.

• Manage day-to-day banking and treasury operations and coordinate with banks on operational matters.
• Process bank transfers, supplier payments, salary/WPS transactions and other payment instructions.
• Manage Letters of Credit (LCs), Trust Receipts (TRs), Bank Guarantees, PBGs, APGs/ABGs and related banking facilities.
• Handle applications, amendments, extensions, settlements and closures of LCs and guarantees.
• Maintain daily cash and bank position, including account balances, available facilities, blocked/margin amounts and upcoming commitments.
• Monitor bank facility utilization, available limits, maturity dates, TR/loan due dates and repayments.
• Maintain accurate LC and Bank Guarantee registers.
• Track upcoming LC/TR/BG maturities and expiries and ensure timely action.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate unreconciled or unidentified transactions.
• Verify bank charges, interest, commissions and other financing costs against approved facility terms.
• Coordinate with banks regarding facility renewals, enhancements, KYC and banking documentation.
• Maintain complete documentation for banking and treasury transactions for audit and internal-control purposes.
• Accurately record and reconcile all banking and treasury transactions in Microsoft Dynamics.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable regarding supplier payment schedules and remittance confirmations.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable regarding expected collections and short-term cash-flow requirements.
• Prepare weekly cash-flow and payment forecasts based on collections, supplier payments and banking commitments.
• Maintain records of PDCs, security cheques and other banking instruments.
• Follow up with banks on pending transactions and ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare periodic Treasury MIS covering cash position, bank facilities, LCs, guarantees, borrowings and upcoming obligations.
• Ensure compliance with the company's approval matrix and internal-control procedures.
• Support the Finance Manager with treasury, banking and cash-management activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, engineering, construction or contracting is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in corporate banking and treasury operations.
• Practical experience with LCs, TRs, Bank Guarantees, PBGs, APGs/ABGs and bank facilities.
• Microsoft Dynamics experience is mandatory. Candidates without Microsoft Dynamics experience will not be considered.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, payment processing and treasury documentation.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good understanding of cash-flow management and banking operations.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with banks, suppliers and internal departments.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple banking commitments and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on treasury and corporate banking experience in an Oil & Gas/EPC environment, understands trade finance and banking facilities, and can independently manage day-to-day treasury operations.

Important: Candidates must have relevant treasury/banking experience AND hands-on Microsoft Dynamics experience to be considered.
