Position Overview
We are now looking for a Smart Plant Instrumentation Administrator to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Reports to: The Smart Plant Instrumentation Administrator reports to the Head of Discipline u2013 Instrumentation & Automation.
Job Overview
The Smart Plant Instrumentation Administrator is responsible for handling setup and administration tasks related to the assigned major projects or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects, by nature of their complexity and difficulty, require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.
In your role, you will execute Smart Plant Instrumentation setup and configuration, user training, and deliverables in projects in a safe manner, within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
You should have a desire to work on multi-discipline local (ADNOC) as well as overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by working together with assigned discipline designers and engineers.

Responsibilities and Duties- Development of new standards and documentation (Owners Projects guide for Smart Plant Instrumentation).
- Engineering graduate (BEng, BSc, or MSc) in Instrumentation or a technical related degree.
- Working experience with ADNOC onshore/offshore or ADNOC group is an added advantage.
- Intergraph certified Smart Plant Instrumentation Designer/System Administrator is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant engineering experience in providing engineering design application support in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry.
- Minimum of 8 years in senior role administration and support of Smart Plant Instrumentation.
- Good verbal as well as written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
- Experience with DCS/ESD/PLC wiring and layout, instrument loop diagrams.
- Experience using Smart Plant Instrumentation modules such as Instrument Index, Instrument spec sheets, Wiring, Process Datasheets, and loop drawings.
- In-depth proven experience in Smart Plant administration including database upgrades, setting up and supporting Smart Plant Instrumentation projects, and splitting off projects for parallel engineering.
- Experience in database setup and dataset management.
- Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation customization and configuration seed files.
- Experience using InfoMaker to customize specification sheets and develop custom reports.
- Integration experience with SPPID & SPF will be an added advantage.
- Easily interface with a variety of internal and external customers.
- Strong aptitude for project planning and implementing new design software.
- Knowledge of VB (.NET) programming and MSSQL/ORACLE queries will be considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must-have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines.
- Ability to effectively conduct training sessions for new users.
- Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during the peak of the project.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support.
- UAE local experience is an added value.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in the English language.
