Commis Chef - Chinese Cuisine

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef specializing in Chinese cuisine to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic Chinese dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, dim sum, noodles, rice dishes, and sauces.
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Ensure the station is set up and stocked before and after shifts.
• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meats, sauces, and marinades according to traditional Chinese techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards as per HACCP or local food safety regulations.
• Participate in stock rotation and inventory control.
• Support in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Learn and grow under the supervision of experienced Chinese cuisine chefs.
• Be proactive in assisting with any other kitchen tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in Chinese cuisine.
• Basic knowledge of wok cooking and Chinese culinary techniques is preferred.
• Passion for Chinese food and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
