The School of Communication and Creative Industries at Canadian University Dubai invites applications from experienced part-time faculty members specializing in Communication, Media, Advertising, Digital & Online Marketing, Digital Design Studio, and Contemporary Art & Design.Successful candidates will deliver engaging instruction, support program quality, and contribute to curriculum development in alignment with university standards and UAE Ministry of Higher Education requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Academic Duties (Part-Time Load):
- Teach assigned courses (up to 6 credit hours per semester) in one or more of the following areas:
- Communication and Media
- Advertising
- Digital & Online Marketing
- Digital Design Studio
- Contemporary Art and Design
- Maintain accurate student records and submit grades to the Registry at midterm and final periods.
- Revise, update, and file lesson plans for each course within one week of semester start.
- Deliver and update course syllabi in line with the official template.
- Recommend course materials and resources to enhance student learning.
- Contribute to curriculum review, improvement, and the development of new courses as needed.
- Supervise independent studies where applicable.
- Stay current with trends, technologies, and practices in the field.
- Serve as subject matter expert in the relevant specialization.
- Support the Department Head and Program Chair in ensuring course and program compliance with academic and accreditation requirements.
- Recommend curricular and resource enhancements to the Department Head.
- Report equipment and resource needs promptly.
- Administrative & Community Engagement:
- Attend faculty and departmental meetings when requested.
- Participate in orientation sessions, professional development workshops, and community engagement initiatives.
- Support the Schools accreditation and quality assurance activities.
- Represent the University in professional, creative, and academic forums as requested.
- Masters degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Communication, Media Studies, Advertising, Marketing, Digital Design, Fine Arts, or a closely related discipline, from a top 500 QS-ranked university, preferably a Western-accredited institution.
- Demonstrated record of teaching excellence and professional/creative practice in the relevant specialization.
- Preference given to candidates with Canadian academic affiliation (Canadian qualifications, teaching experience at a Canadian university, or other professional linkage to Canada/North America).
- Middle East teaching or professional industry experience preferred.
Commitment Required
This is a part-time teaching position requiring availability for scheduled class hours, limited office hours for student support, and attendance at designated faculty/department meetings.
