Employment: Full Time
Job purpose
Performs, with a team of technicians, daily core handling activities, maintenance of facilities and equipment at core stores. Provides high quality services, as provided below, to all ADNOC Onshore assets teams as advised by store supervisor.
Key accountabilities- Prepares inventory for core materials and fluid samples.
- Responsible for loading, receiving, registering, cataloguing, handling, preparing loading note and storing in the rack system.
- Retrieves, lays out and lays down core material from rack system for ADNOC Onshore asset teams, ADNOC HQ, ISH, contractors as per ADNOC Onshore HSE policy and core store supervisor advice.
- Drills, trims and prepares plug samples using core plugging and core blabbing machine into 1/3 for core description, stores slabs in special core trays, re-writes the depth interval and stores in the rack system.
- Updates core material inventory in the database and records using computer facilities.
- Arranges and transfers all processed core off-cuts and cutting samples to core store facilities and prepares dispatches of cores, plug samples, slabbed cores, thin sections and cutting samples for studies to laboratories.
- Takes digital photographs of slabbed cores on a regular basis, performs quality control on core photographs, ensures correct labelling and returns to racks with storage.
- Performs maintenance of core store and all equipment as per the defined frequency. Reports to the core store supervisor for equipment repairs when required.
- Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures to accomplish operational objectives.
- Provide on-the-job training to meet competency based training programs for UAE nationalization.
- Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
- Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.
- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the maintenance supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.
- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC code of practices.
- Participate in emergency response duties as a team member.
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
- Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare section progress reports for company management.
- Provide input for the preparation of method statements and initiate near miss reports.
Communications & working relationships
Internal- Occasionally with all ADNOC Onshore assets team geologists as required.
- Regularly with ADNOC Onshore Bab 13.
- Regularly with ADNOC Onshore Transportation Section.
- Occasional contacts with third party contractors.
Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills
Minimum qualification- Technical diploma or secondary school certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
- 4 years of experience, preferably in oil and gas industry.
- Nil.
- Operating machinery in safe manner.
- Computer literate.
- Communication skills.
- Teamwork and cooperation.
- Interpersonal skills.
