Role Purpose (Mission)
The Instrumentation Lead is responsible for leading Instrumentation Engineering activities (including Automation and Telecommunication engineering depending on seniority) across project phases. The role ensures delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements, while maintaining compliance with project interfaces and company standards.
Additionally, The Role Drives- Continuous improvement and standardization of methodologies
- Implementation of company guidelines and KPI monitoring within projects
- General Engineering Leadership
- Lead and coordinate instrumentation engineering activities across project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements
- Manage discipline interfaces and information flow
- Provide technical guidance to project teams
- Bidding & Proposal Phase
- Analyze tender documentation and define discipline deliverables
- Identify technical deviations, queries, and alternatives
- Develop design criteria, methodologies, and engineering plans
- Estimate material quantities, weights, and engineering manhours
- Support technical clarifications with clients and proposal teams
- Project Execution
- Plan and monitor discipline activities, schedules, and deliverables
- Control engineering manhours and discipline budget
- Ensure quality and compliance with contractual requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, including performance monitoring
- Manage document workflows, approvals, and interdisciplinary coordination
- Provide technical support to procurement, construction, and project teams
- Participate in client technical interfacing (as delegated)
- Oversee:
- Purchase requisitions
- Technical bid evaluations
- Vendor follow-ups and inspections
- Inspection and testing plans
- Construction & Site Support
- Support construction teams in implementing engineering solutions on site
- Assist in inspection planning and vendor verification activities
- Home Office / Governance Activities
- Review manhour and cost estimates
- Validate key project documents
- Support resolution of complex technical issues
- Maintain and update discipline standards and workflows
- Monitor project KPIs and support execution planning
- Contribute to procurement strategy and vendor qualification
