Process Safety Engineer

Employment: Full Time
Job responsibilities:
Prepare and review process safety studies and documentation including:
- HAZID
- HAZOP
- SIL
- QRA
- FERA
- EERA
- SIMOPS
Develop design philosophies such as:
- Fire protection
- Hazardous area classification
- Design safety philosophies
Support the preparation of layouts for fire and gas detection, safety equipment placement, and escape routes.
Perform risk and consequence modeling using industry-standard tools.
Ensure incorporation of process safety requirements into PFDs, P&IDs, and other process documents.
Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure safety considerations are fully integrated into design.
Ensure alignment with ADNOC standards and other major operator requirements (e.g. Shell, BP, ExxonMobil).
Participate in safety reviews, technical audits, and project meetings.
Support third-party consultants and verify their deliverables when required.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in process safety engineering for onshore oil and gas projects.
- Solid experience in FEED, detailed design, and detailed engineering phases.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas processing facility safety design and international safety standards.
- Familiarity with ADNOC and major IOC design standards and safety philosophies.
- Experience with software tools such as PHAST, DNV GL, PHA-Pro, or similar.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
