What you will be doing:

  • Meet and exceed customer and team member expectations
  • Provide value-added service to customers by doing whatever is reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
  • Adhere to hotel policies and procedures:
  • Attend work on time as scheduled
  • Follow hotel standards regarding personal hygiene
  • Minimize dangers by following all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain a favorable reputation for the hotel brand at all times
  • Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times
  • Monitor and control the cleanliness of the kitchen areas and equipment
  • Ensure that the correct ordering procedures are followed, and that every order is done through a captain order
  • Prepare your working station and mise en place as per daily requirements and part stock lists
  • Check working set-up and mise en place of assigned staff and monitor that the task is followed
  • Help supervise breakfast and à la carte menu 24-hour service and assure the correct sequence of service
  • Control portion size and presentation before the dishes are handed over to the pass
  • Inform the sous chef immediately of any irregularities or problems
  • Make full hand-over to the responsible supervisor of the following shift
  • Be fully briefed on accident, fire, and evacuation procedures
  • Carry out other duties assigned by management
  • Record all recipes in your own book
  • Assist chef de partie in his duties
  • Be fully instructed about daily specials and promotions, as well as the usual menu offer, including recipes
  • Have knowledge about first aid
  • Attend training classes and make suggestions for improvement
  • Prepare, arrange, and serve all food according to the standards set by the sous chef
  • Ensure delivery of the 15-minutes guest satisfaction guarantee service as per IBIS standards
  • Be fully aware, conversant, and embody Accor's spirit, values, and goals and be responsible to integrate them in the day-to-day operation
  • Be fully aware and conversant of Accor environmental charter and be responsible to integrate it in the day-to-day operation
  • Be fully aware and conversant of ISO9001/ISO 14001 (for Ibis Hotel) policies and procedures and be responsible to integrate them in the day-to-day operation

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Creative and passionate about food and customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • Bachelors or diplomas/certifications in Culinary required
  • Work in 5-star hotel or relevant experience is a must within the industry
